吉野杉の育て方

吉野は、独自の育林技術によって、日本三大人工美林の一つにまで称されるようになりました。

The Yoshino has been named as one of Japan three most beautiful planted forests owing the unique silvicultural techniques used.

ｰ密植ｰ
他地域に比べ多くの苗木を植えることで、木は日光を求め、上に向かってまっすぐに育ちます。

By planting more seedlings than other areas, the trees seek out sunlight, growing tall and straight.

ｰ多間伐ｰ
100年の間に10回以上間伐をします。そのため木がゆっくりと育ち、年輪が細かく均一になります。

The trees are thinned more than ten times century. This means the trees grow slowly, giving them narrow, even rings.

ｰ長伐期ｰ
一度に全ての木を伐ることはせずに、100年200年生の大きく美しい木を育てていきます。

Instead of cutting down all the trees at once, trees that are one or two centuries old are allowed to grow big and beautiful.
